Despite their pivotal role in the growth and development of Kerala's economy, these industries grapple with challenges such as employment generation, raw material availability, and market demand. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the difficulties faced by employers and employees in these industries, plunging them into hardships and job crises. This impact is thoroughly examined in the present study, which aims to analyse the repercussions of COVID-19 on coir and cashew industries in Kerala.The pandemic's effect rippled through every aspect of the industrial value chain, affecting production, processing, marketing, and exporting of coir, cashew, and related products. The short-term and long-term consequences on the workforce were profound, leaving them unemployed with no income, relying on prior savings for daily needs. The study investigates the situation from the perspectives of both employers and employees, shedding light on the plight of various stakeholders in coir and cashew industrial units during the COVID-19 phase. Numerous factories associated with these industries faced substantial losses, resulting in a plummeting growth rate. It took time for the entire Kerala economy to recover from the recessionary impact of the pandemic. Industrial units encountered challenges related to employment, production, sales, and production costs. Regardless of market type and capital investment, cashflow emerged as the most affected variable, with the SEM model indicating a strong correlation between cash flow, supply chain, and market demand. 9788196830304
