Christians in Kerala are a preponderant community, unlike in rest of the India. There are numerous Christian denominations in the state but socially they can be broadly categorised into two sects: the Syrian Christians and Backward Christians. This work is an empirical analysis of the socio-economic state of affairs of these two groups during the past few decades.
