The book is the culmination of years of research and rummaging through treasure chests of old documents and bits of history.With the book, Lakshmi has managed to successfully place the Maharani in history and has made an extensive document about her life, and her rule of Travancore as Regent for her nephew Chithira Thirunal, between 1924 and 1931.The book has been divided into three parts, namely the early years, the regency, and the aftermath, pieced together from a huge trunk of letters between the Maharani and various authorities of state.
