Summary, etc. | The book "Soft Computing" is primarily intended to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students. The book covers syllabus prescribed by most Indian universities and institutes. This book provides knowledge in a simple and systematic manner. What Readers can Expect from this Book. The book is written as a concise textbook with some noticeable features. (a) The book presents an integrated approach that can quickly push the students to the frontier of soft computing. However, in order to follow the integrated treatment of the materials, it is recommended to the reader to read the whole book, with emphasis on the chapters of their specific interest. (b) The chapters contain plenty of examples to illustrate well-selected materials. This can help the reader to focus on the materials of particular interest. Although intended for real-world applications, examples in this book are made simple so that readers can follow the various basic ideas discussed. (c) The book will benefit the students from different disciplines and can be used at various levels with different streams. (d) The book contains solved example problems, review questions, and exercise problems. A list of review questions is attached with each chapter. How to Use this Book: The book has been written keeping the interest of students in mind and integrates the underlying technical aspects and subsequent research aspects. Students will find that most of the chapters are not difficult to read. For graduate students, this book serves as a road map for their own research. With the advice you should read a number of technical papers as indicated in the reading list, present your comments, and consider how to apply the theory or how to improve/extend the work. You may not be able do much in a regular semester, but you may elaborate on your findings for your thesis or graduate project (if you are so interested). |
